Calculate CPC and planned clicks
CPC = total advertising cost ÷ clicks.
How to plan cost per click
Cost per click measures the average amount spent for each tracked ad click. With a cost of 350 and 250 clicks, your CPC is 1.40. To forecast clicks, divide the prospective spend by an assumed CPC; for example, 750 ÷ 1.40 is approximately 536 clicks.
Search and social ad auctions fluctuate. Use a CPC forecast as a scenario rather than a promise, and combine it with conversion rate and profit margin before estimating business results.
